Motivational stories: Drowning man

A very faithful religious man used to live in a town on the river bank. A terrible storm came into the town and local officials sent out an emergency warning that the riverbanks would soon overflow and flood the nearby homes. They ordered everyone in the town to evacuate immediately.

The faithful man heard the warning and decided to stay, saying to himself, “I will trust God and if I am in danger, then God will send a divine miracle to save me.”

The neighbors came by his house and said to him, “We’re leaving and there is room for you in our car, please come with us!” But the man declined. “I have faith that God will save me.”

motivational stories:The carpenter's retirement

A highly skilled carpenter who had grown old was ready to retire. He goes to the contractor/builder who employed him for thirty years and tells his employer he plans to retire...to live in leisure, spend more time with his wife and family and watch the grandkids grow up. He would miss the regular paycheck, but he needed to retire.
The employer was sorry to see his good worker go and he requested to build just one more house as a personal favor.

Motivational stories:The elephant and rope

A man was passing through the village and saw an elephant camp. There he saw the group of elephants.  He suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.
He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” the trainer replied, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
